GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for protecting the assets of the company and ensuring a safe environment for our DC employees and visitors. The LP Agent has a thorough knowledge of Gap Inc. policy and procedures. The LP Agent works closely with LP Leads and above to perform duties that directly support the core supply chain LP responsibilities of physical security, safety, inventory management, auditing, and investigations. The LP Agent also works closely with DC Operations to increase LP awareness, maintain operational excellence and minimize shortage within their assigned area of responsibility. The LP Agent also serves as a primary point of contact with the public (eg. visitors, law enforcement and other government officials).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contribute to shortage reduction: Inventory Management, Auditing & Investigations. 50%
Responsible for conducting inventory control audits in dedicated and/or integrated distribution environments:A. Retail: inbound, stocking, picking (manual pick, put to store & sortation), shipping, and quality controlB. Online: inbound, stocking, picking (manual pick, sortation), packing, shipping, and quality control, e-commerce system audits, refunds/returns, missing packages, fraud/chargebacks
Responsible for supporting internal and external investigations based off the above audit results and/or information received from floor associates
Responsible for conducting all shortage related audits located in the LP Shortage database
Maintain a working knowledge of all DC functions and warehouse management systems (WMS, nWMS, WMOS)
Act as a witness during loss prevention interviews as conducted by LP Leaders (Supervisors, Managers, etc…) in distribution centers and stores
Assists in pipeline and brand protection investigations as requested
Maintain communication with Loss Prevention and DC Operations and provide feedback on operational opportunities
Complete all assigned daily, weekly and monthly responsibilities
Cultivate a culture of shortage awareness through education and training
Maintain a safe + crime-free environment for DC employees and visitors. 50%
- Access control:
a. Manage and maintain the local card access system (create new/replacement badges, deactivate badges)
b. Monitor associate, vendor and visitor entrances and exits from the buildings and parking lots.
c. Ensure that all contractors and visitors are signed in and escorted to work areas
d. Interact with law enforcement, emergency services and other government agencies that visit the campus in accordance with Gap Inc policies and procedures
- Physical Security:
a. Conduct bag checks on all associates, vendors and visitors entering and leaving the building
b. Responsible for keeping the facility secure during non-operational hours
c. Monitor and respond to local facility alarms
d. Monitor maintain the local CCTV system
e. Conduct internal and external security patrols
f. Perform system tests and inform LP Lead of equipment in need of repair
- Safety/Business Continuity Planning (BCP):
a. Assist with emergency events (eg. Fire, Tornado and Earthquake)
b. Serve as first responder for safety incidents
c. Responsible for contacting emergency services, LP Leadership and DC Operations Leaders
Generate LP incident reports for security and safety events
Support cyber-security efforts by conducting laptop audits and other IT related security tasks
At the direction of the LP Lead/Supervisor, support the training of new associates and contract security officers.
Responsible for managing all inbound and outbound trailer activity; or oversee the contract security officers charged with these tasks where applicable
Inbound: Verification of seal chain of custody and ensure the bills of lading are properly received and stamped in the absence of receiving personnel.
Outbound: Checking bills of lading against trailer and seal numbers assuring that the shipments have proper documentation.
Maintain inbound & outbound trailer logs
Maintain the physical security of the trailer yard
Assist the department with all aspects of Loss Prevention
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Will have daily interaction with the local Loss Prevention team, DC Operations management and associates. Works closely with LP Leads and assists with mentoring of new LP Agents. Interfaces with Field and Corporate Business (ie. Supply Chain Investigations Managers, Store Loss Prevention teams, HR, ER, Transportation). Interacts frequently with visitors, law enforcement and other government agencies.
1) Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Knowledge of Loss Prevention and/or security procedures (preferred)
Able to maintain constant awareness of surroundings; attention to detail
Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills (written & verbal)
Must present a professional demeanor and appearance at all times
Self-motivated; must be able to multi-task and work in fast paced environment work with little supervision
Should possess basic to intermediate computer skills (spreadsheets, databases, word processing programs)
Effective time management, organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills.
Able to work effectively as part of a teamwork
High professional standards regarding customer service and confidentiality.
2) Minimum experience/educational level:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
2 years of retail loss prevention experience, or college education (preferred)
CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred)
State certification required, where applicable.
3) Physical Requirements:
Be available to work any shift or facility within campus upon request appropriate to business needs
Must be able to stand/walk distribution center floor for hours at a time.
Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs.
