Role: Execution Systems Engineer
Location: Little Island, Cork.
Reports to: Execution Systems Lead
Janssen Pharmaceutical Sciences Unlimited Company has been manufacturing bulk active pharmaceutical ingredients in Cork since 1981. Products are sold throughout the world to other Janssen and third party companies, where they are further processed into tablets, creams, or injectable dosage forms. These finished products are used in the treatment of a range of Psychiatric, Gastro Intestinal and Fungal disorders
as well as in the treatment of HIV.
Responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of automated control systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems, Historians and interfaces within the Cork Chemical Manufacturing Facility.
As a Execution Systems Engineer, your typical day may include:
GENERAL SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Support commissioning and qualification activities.
•Ensuring that Execution Systems resources and activities are planned and executed to meet business needs and manufacturing schedule.
•Maintain and administer manufacturing control systems in support of daily process operations.
•Responsible for the design and support of control and manufacturing system servers, networks, and other infrastructure.
•Interact with production personnel to identify and analyze continuous improvement through automation/manufacturing system upgrades/improvements. Manage, document and implement these upgrades through change control procedures.
•Execute capital projects including, but not limited to, control system software upgrades, control system hardware upgrades, network enhancements, plant upgrades, MES/Historian system implementation/changes, recipe management, user requirement specification development, and process equipment installations.
•SOP development and training on Execution Systems.
•Master Recipe Creation & Maintenance
•Troubleshoot, analyze and resolve field manufacturing system issues.
•Support investigation and resolution of process issues.
•Support other GMP manufacturing system and control system projects as needed.
•Review design and development documents including all system life cycle documentation for manufacturing system and control systems, as well as P&IDs and process descriptions.
•Develop, review, and/or execute manufacturing/control system qualification and validation protocols.
•Manage execution system projects through effective financial and schedule control. Supervise contractors in the execution of these projects.
•Develop Project budgets and Capital Requirements Budgets

•Engineering/Science Qualification, minimum Degree level with >5 years' related experience
•Bachelors Degree in Engineering/Science (Chemical, Electrical / Electronics, Instrument Physics, Computer Science)
•OSI-PI and PI client tool experience, PI-Ace etc
•Experience of working with and utilising Manufacturing Data for Business Benefit
•Familiar with project specifications and standards for automated systems.
•Previous experience with fully validated manufacturing systems in an FDA regulated environment
•Familiarity with using ISA-88 and ISA-95 for Business Benefit
•ABB 800xA , Siemens
•Exposure to Control systems
•>5 years technical hands on experience
