As an MCIO Data Center Inventory & Asset Management Technician, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform.

Responsibilities

As the successful Senior Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician, your performance objectives include:

  • Empowering a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspect of data center activities

  • Establishing and enhancing strong working relationships with customers

  • Understanding overall ticket management process

  • Providing remote and smart hands support for material movement, including shipping/receiving and inventory management per standard process

  • Supporting physical inventory tracking and staging

  • Preparing outbound shipments

  • Accurately documenting incoming and outgoing deliveries.

  • Data entry to document inbound and outbound packages

  • Directing cycle audits to ensure all inventory controls are met

  • May be asked to perform shift-based tactical management tasks such as prioritizing ticketing queues, working to resolve escalations, and clearing blocking issues to enable continued delivery of I&A activities

  • Following procedure, ship data center hardware and equipment globally using Microsoft tools

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications :

  • At least two years of warehouse/supply chain/logistics

  • Previous experience working in a data center environment

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Certification in ASICS/Inventory Control or equivalent

  • Technical College degree or certification in ASICS/Inventory Control, Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, or equivalent work experience

  • Basic working knowledge of physical IT infrastructure (e.g. Servers, SANs, Networking, etc.)

  • Perform and execute organization’s safety programs and policies, and compliance knowledge assessments

  • Knowledge of commercial invoices and harmonized codes

  • Flexibility to work non-standard business hours that may include weekends and/or holidays

Background Check Requirements:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
