Your Opportunity

Stantec is looking for a detail oriented and proactive Accounts Payable person to join our Accounts Payable (AP) team. Working in collaboration with our entire accounting team, the Accounts Payable person will be responsible for accounts payable transactions and supporting the implementation and documentation of all financial regulatory requirements.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Processing high volume of accounts payable invoices and employee expense claims in an electronic environment

  • Perform online audit of expense reports

  • Provide customer support assistance and communication to Stantec offices within an assigned region

  • Work in a team environment to ensure that the goals of the Accounts Payable team are met as established

  • Undertake special projects or assignments as delegated

  • Communicate with vendors as required

  • Assist in providing audit documentation requests

  • Provide customer support assistance and communication to Stantec offices within an assigned region

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Previous Accounts Payable training or experience is desired

  • Understanding of accounting concepts and principles

  • Ability to work independently with general supervision as well as work well in a team environment

  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with customers, vendors and employees throughout the organization

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Experience in an office environment

  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP Software

  • Customer Service skills

  • Knowledge of administrative processes

Education and Experience

High School Diploma with minimum of 2-3 years experience; or equivalent combination of post secondary education and experience.

Position will primarily work in an office setting.
