CDN Controls Ltd. Instrumentation Manager - Grande Prairie in Edmonton, Alberta

CDN Controls Ltd. is a fully integrated provider of instrumentation, electrical, automation, communication, combustion and emissions services throughout Western Canada.

We are currently looking to hire an Instrumentation Manager to be based out of our Grande Prairie office.

  • Monitoring the costs, productivity, and scheduling associated with the Instrumentation department

  • Monitoring department and project expenses to ensure all budget requirements are met

  • Maximizing manpower while utilizing the skills, material and other resources to ensure efficiencies are met and exceeded

  • Maintaining and developing lasting relationships with Employees, Managers/Owners & Customers

  • Conducting annual performance evaluations for all field staff

  • Supporting and mentoring apprentices and journeyman

  • Building rapport with the apprentices and journeyman to understand each individual’s skills and strengths to develop a strong team

  • Providing technical assistance and recommendations for proper operations, design and E&I installations

  • Conducting periodic site visits

  • Collaborating with the Estimating team to develop project budgets

  • Complying with the standards and safety procedures of the CDN Controls Health & Safety Manual.

  • Red Seal Journeyman Instrument Technician, dual ticketed would be an asset

  • 3-5 years of industrial Instrumentation Management or Supervisory experience.

  • Valid class 5 license with a clean driver’s abstract

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Outlook, Word)

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to deal with difficult people/situations with a calm demeanor

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Industry required safety tickets:

  • Pre-Employment Drug and Alcohol Testing

  • H2S Alive

  • First Aid Level C CPR & AED

  • CSTS

  • eGSO

  • Leadership for Safety Excellence
