What You’ll Do

The Cisco Network Assurance Engine (NAE) team is looking for a hands-on software engineer to join its engineering team, to design, develop and test object-oriented software. Responsibilities include:

· Design, develop, test, document and deliver software in one or more areas of infrastructure, back-end or front-end, to satisfy product requirements

· Work with various cross-functional groups such as distributed systems, platform and infrastructure engineering and product management

· Participate in technical discussions and provide creative solutions

Who You’ll Work With

Cisco Network Assurance Engine has the goal of building an Intent Assurance Platform using various modeling and formal verification techniques. The team comprises of members from academia, industry researchers, several PhDs, as well as key engineers from several Big Data companies. The team consists of core software, UI, UX, Big Data, Full stack, Formal, Mathematical modeling experts and engineers, as well as policy, security and other networking domain experts. We are primarily located in San Jose.

Who You Are

Specific technical skills:

  1. Ability to code in one or more standard programming languages such as Java, C++, Python.

  2. Working knowledge of test methodologies, including scripting and automation, and DevOps tools like Jenkins

  3. Good understanding of distributed systems architecture and design

Specific product experience:

  1. Prior experience developing networking products is desirable

  2. Knowledge of data center networking, and ACI in particular, is desirable

General abilities:

  1. Ability to do hands-on development with good design and coding practices

  2. Ability to quickly learn new technologies

  3. Comfortable working in an Agile environment

  4. Good verbal and writing skills

  5. Excellent collaboration skills, and can work well in small and large group environments

Minimum Qualifications

  1. BS/MS degree in EE/CS with 1+ years of experience
