We are looking to add an experienced Senior Project Manager to our team, based out of our Langley, BC office. Reporting to the General Manager, Energy Systems, the successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation and construction of temporary and permanent energy plants, piping networks and building service connections. The role oversees conceptual energy project developments and ongoing active energy utility project expansions as assigned, executing work in accordance with contract documents, safety policies, schedule and budget. Consulting and coordinating with the operations group to ensure successful commissioning and hand over.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and manage or oversee complete project Tender/RFQ/RFP process

  • Report on project cost spending and forecasting

  • Provide expertise and leadership to identify cost saving measures and potential construction problems in the planning phase of a project, to raise, discuss and resolve relevant issues at job site meetings, and to oversee construction through to commissioning acting as ESC’s prime representative

  • Prepare and negotiate revisions/changes/additions to contractual agreements with sub-contractors, clients, and consultants

  • Direct and supervise staff, participate in recruitment, selection, orientation, training and evaluation of employees; maintain a safe, secure, and legal work environment; develop personal growth opportunities

  • Prepare project schedules, general condition budgets, and reports such as cost forecasting summaries, and manage all RFI, SI, CCO, CO, CD and CN costs and maintain CO logs

  • Assist senior management with project development, proposal preparation and submission, and budget estimation and preparation, ensuring proper project constructability

  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, engineers, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.

  • Ensure effective communication between consultants/clients/trades people. Interpret and explain plans and contracts terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients, representing the owner or developer. Ensure that as-built drawings are prepared and maintained on an ongoing basis by all trades during construction

  • Monitor and maintain project construction schedules, expediting all shop drawings and approvals to ensure timelines are achieved, and maintain and enforce construction standards and quality control

  • Inform consultants of any errors, discrepancies or omissions contained within the consultants design drawings and specifications and ensure issues are resolved

  • Monitor site safety, ensuring all project specific permitting and licensing is in place and all requirements of OHSE are in compliance, and manage all independent testing and inspections as required

  • Review and approve all project related monthly progress draws and invoicing

  • Prepare and expedite project deficiency lists

Who You Are

• You have a Mechanical, Civil, or Architectural degree, and 5 to 10 years relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• You are a member of, or are eligible to be a member of, a Professional Organization (e.g. EGBC)

• PMP and/or LEED qualification would be an asset
