Our BI (Buildings and Infrastructure) Line of Business have an exciting opportunity for a BI Europe Controller to join our Finance team in the UK.

Role and Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting

  • Deliver timely, relevant and accurate weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual Regional financial information.

  • Establish appropriate performance benchmarks across all business units and implement a consistent measurement system to ensure accurate reporting across all units.

  • Devise and implement KPI’s which measure operational excellence alongside the delivery of financial objectives.

  • Lead regular interaction with auditors on Hit-List reports

Commercial Input

  • Work with Senior Vice President & General Manager to understand the business trends, KPI’s and help plan improvements.

  • Focus on profit improvement and performance enhancement through the implementation of new initiatives

  • Responsibility for all revenues assurance and business risk management activities.

  • Leading the group plan to improve the working capital position.

  • Support the business on the integration process.

Budgeting & Forecasting Process

  • Preparation of the annual budget review and challenging the business units on proposed targets for the year

  • Owner of the rolling forecasting process

  • Identifying and implementing corrective action requirements

Corporate Governance

  • Ensuring best practice is maintained and implemented where required across all units in line with company requirements, audit requirements, SOX and IFRS

  • Liaison with internal and external legal advisors on company secretarial matters

Projects

  • Ensure that all Projects are reported in line with best practices and that Revenues and Margin are reported in accordance with Company Policy.

  • Ensure that any project tax risks are clearly identified and reported.

Processes, Systems Development & Staff

  • Deliver continued improvements to the finance function by improving further on structure, staff competency, standardization of the finance structure, development of reporting systems and procedures and continued automation of the financial reporting framework

Project Management

  • Management of adhoc projects as they arise.

Taxation & Treasury

  • Ensure that all tax planning matters and treasury requirements are understood and implemented as required.

Regulatory

  • Be aware of and adhere to any regulatory requirements and keep abreast of any new developments.

  • Processes, Systems Development & Staff

Qualifications

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified Accountant with extensive experience.

  • Demonstrated experience at senior Finance executive in a commercially focused organisation.

  • Demonstrated record of achievement and the delivery of quality outcomes related to the management of the Finance function in a large diverse organisation.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant financial and tax management legislation, standards and industry specific regulatory requirements.

  • High integrity and openness combined with a commitment to strong governance.

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.

  • Proven ability to engage stakeholders and to build appropriate partnerships.

  • Excellent time management skills to manage a complex workload, prioritize and set deadlines and cope with conflicting and changing demands.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook etc.
