About the Job

The Carrier Sales MAE is responsible for selling Akamai’s products – including specific Carrier product portfolio to existing and new customers in EMEA.

The seasoned candidate will have expertise in selling software and associated services into network service providers (Telcos, MSOs and ISPs) with a strong knowledge of Internet technologies and protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) as well as wireline and wireless equipment and network architecture protocols. With report to the Sales Manager or Regional Director Carrier Sales EMEA, the position will be preferably based in Spain.

About the Team

Carrier Sales Division is a dynamic “start-in“ team that defines, develops, and sells Akamai’s products to fixed and mobile carriers. The group is responsible for Akamai’s initiatives for Managed and Licensed Content Delivery Networks (MCDN & LCDN), DNS and DNS VAS services (Security, Parental Controls, Digital Communication etc.) for consumer and SOHO/SMB markets and incorporates the strength of Akamai’s global distributed computing system packaged into products and sold to network service providers (Telcos, ISPs, MSOs).

The division works with several other groups in Akamai as well as engaging with many external customers and consists of business development, engineering, product, marketing and financial personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop and close a set of business opportunities within existing customer base and named new targets accounts.


  • Foster long term customer relationships by understanding customer needs and being a strong advocate with Akamai


  • Preparation and execution of sound business plan, strategic account plan, monthly progress reports and executive summaries.

    
* Maintain strong sales pipeline, accurate weekly, monthly and quarterly forecast to increase visibility of short and long term business trend.

    
* Meet bookings and revenue growth quota within the set of assigned accounts and sector(s).

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree

  • 10+ years in system or software or solution sales within service providers

  • Proven track record in developing New Sales to Telcos, MSOs and ISPs

  • Proven track record in building pipeline and managing sales cycles to constantly over-achieving quarterly and annual quota.

  • Must have high ethics, integrity, humility and desire to work as a team player in a world-class sales and support organization

  • Experience in successfully executing complex sales cycles with CXOs

  • Requires formal Solution-Selling and/or Value Selling training

  • Ideal candidates will bring with them a range of industry-related contacts

  • Solid background in Internet/Mobile infrastructure and Web application

  • Classic “hunter profile” with a strong desire to win new business within existing customer base and to win new customers for Akamai

Language skills:

Mandatory : Spanish (native or bilingual) and English

Optionally : Italian, French or German speakers are welcome
