Summary:

Facebook is seeking a strategic thinker to join our Philippines Public Policy team as Public Policy Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for managing policy issues in Philippines and for program activities that demonstrate the value of our platform to key stakeholders. Candidates should have strategic vision to forecast regulatory trends and use that analysis to shape Facebook’s strategy and projects. The right candidate will be committed to data-driven innovation, skilled at working cross-functionally and accomplished at engaging policymakers and constituents to build partnerships. This role is full-time and will be based in our Manila office.

Required Skills:

  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders including policymakers, industry associations and civil society

  2. Analyze legislative and regulatory proposals and trends on privacy, data and related technology issues

  3. Conceive and implement Facebook’s strategy, working closely with cross-functional teams including policy, communications, legal, sales, partnerships and marketing

  4. Collaborate with key constituents to form partnerships and organize external policy activities including campaigns, seminars, conferences and exhibitions

  5. Develop innovative campaigns and solutions for a variety of policy, legislative and regulatory proposals that interest the company

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 8+ years of work experience in policy, public affairs or relevant fields

  2. Successful track record managing policymakers, industry groups, civil society and other stakeholders

  3. Keen understanding of the Filipino political system, environment and institutions

  4. Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments under tight deadlines

  5. A team player with a high degree of flexibility and willingness to work on a wide variety of policy and regulatory questions with cross-functional teams

  6. Interest in emerging technologies and public policy work

  7. Superb writing and oral communications skills

  8. Proficiency in Filipino and the English language in both conversation and writing

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in policy work and program management for a multinational corporation or government preferred

  2. Knowledge/insight into competition, privacy, digital policy is a plus
