Job Description :

  • In 2015 we got Smirnoff distribution rights and the 50% additional share on TDJ, this acquisition has increased the complexity as includes production, exports and agriculture management


  • NSV: £300m GBP expected to reach 2X in four years (More than £500m), the largest and fastest growing market of the – LATAM - region

  • Business of 4 million cases expected to reach to 9 million in F20

  • Overheads Budget Control: £30m

  • Staff Cost Control: £16m

  • Total HC: 300 employees

Market Complexity:

Diageo Mexico has been a successful business experiencing double digit growth in the recent years. Currently and for the next 4 years the challenge is to keep growing the Scotch business (85% of NSV and profits) while consolidating emerging categories (Tequilas, Vodkas) and entering new ones (Tequilas) the following ambition to become a profitable multi-category alcohol business, in order to duplicate the business, becoming the most relevant, fastest growing, most profitable market of Latin America and within top 5 markets for Diageo Worldwide

Competition has been progressively increasing, becoming more sophisticated and aggressive over the last 24 months, pressing Diageo to improve business performance management processes, executional capabilities, talent management and retention, agility on decision making, resource allocation skills while maintaining strategic focus will have to deal with resource allocation, creation of business capacity and recent (Tequila and Smirnoff) and future acquisitions poses additional risks and given the complexities or merging / developing new commercial and marketing structures and reaching well defined productivity and growth targets.

Identifying further growth opportunities (inorganic / acquisitions) locally in current and alternative categories, will be key in order to rebalance the growth path and deliver the business goal to reach £500m; therefore, the active function of business development is essential for the market.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Implement the strategic plans for the market relative to the talent and organization agenda

  • Facilitator of People Engagement strategy for Diageo Mexico.

  • Define and execute the organization and Multi Year Talent plans for México Market.

  • Implement the diversity agenda across the business functions.

  • Implementation of the talent strategy for leadership and people management (talent reviews, performance management, reward management, organizational effectiveness, and others...) in order to achieve Business Performance.

  • Maximize talent management to support business, streamline efficiencies and staff costs for Diageo.

  • Accountable for talent assessment, selection, deployment of capability development, retention plan, and cultural adoption and Engagement.

  • Leader of HR controls and compliance of Business Code of Conduct.

  • Leader of local implementation of recognition program

  • Leader of onboarding program

  • Responsible to provide guidance, coaching and support to the Executive team regarding talent and performance management.

  • Responsible for the Training Strategy aligned with the Talent Strategy to developbusiness capabilities in order to achieve business goals.

Purpose of Role:

  • Ensure the market is provided of the best talent with the right capabilities performing the right role.

  • Provide the Executive Committee with the best coaching and decision-making tools related to talent management.

  • Achieve the Organizational Effectiveness goals in terms of structure and financials.

Top 3-5 Accountabilities:

  • Facilitator of People Engagement strategy for Diageo Mexico

  • This role is responsible the implementation of the talent strategy for leadership and people management (talent reviews, performance management, reward management, organizational effectiveness, and others...) in order to achieve Business Performance.

  • Achieve the performance business objectives, leading all conversations in terms of possible risks and opportunities and ensuring the accurate use of human resources.

  • Provide reliable and accurate information to all the Executive Committee and Leadership teams for decision making related to talent management

  • To protect company's resources through the implementation of internal controls.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • University degree, with a postgraduate. Minimum 5 years of experience

  • Extensive knowledge and skills in all Human Resources operations

  • Strong team leadership, motivational and communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, social networking, influencing and negotiating skills. Strong in personal presence with a high level of interpersonal skills and an excellent communicator and motivator.

  • People management experience in a similar HR Manager role

  • Capable of understanding market and business needs.

  • Intellectually strong and creative and original thinker.

  • Fluent in English.
