Supplier Performance Engineer

Job Description:

  • Leads efforts to drive improvement in supplier quality and on time delivery through implementation of supplier improvement strategies

  • Works with supplier organizations to rectify and improve OTD and quality issues

  • Develops and executes improvement plans with suppliers as required

  • Develops and maintains comprehensive procedures and policies to measure and ensure supplier performance

  • Develops and executes comprehensive supplier audit plan

  • Leads process assessments/audits, recommends improvements, and monitors implementation of changes

  • Reviews capability and capacity of supplier and informs management of significant gaps

  • Promotes design for manufacturability by working with Product Engineering and suppliers

  • Responsible for key internal quality metrics (Supplier OTD, and Quality)

  • Leads efforts required to develop, implement, and verify manufacturing control systems at suppliers

  • Implements quality improvement activities with supply chain

  • Initiates Corrective Action Report management and resolution

  • Develops supplier certification program to select, evaluate, monitor and de-select suppliers

  • Maintains Self Release program via monthly monitoring of all self release suppliers and communication of low performance to suppliers. Also helps constant search for new eligible vendors for Self Release

  • Implements supplier scorecard to measure suppliers on critical characteristics, reviewing scorecards with suppliers and with nonconforming suppliers to develop action plans.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics etc. or equivalent apprenticeship

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in Purchasing with the Aerospace Industry is required

  • Experienced and confident with MS Office

  • Fluency in English, both written and verbally; second language desirable

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills

  • Distinctive communication skills and a high team spirit

  • Self-motivated, goal-orientated with a high level of energy
