Chevron Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Health, Environment and Safety (HES) Specialist – Environment, Supply Chain Management & Subsea and Pipelines to join the HES Produce team. This two-year maximum term role will be based in Perth and will report to the HES Operations Lead – Environment.
Environmental support for supply chain management (SCM) activities inclusive of warehousing, marine operations, aviation, and line-haul
Develop and implement environmental deliverables in support of SCM activities, including the implementation of the Perth distribution centre environment plan, storage and handling of chemicals, wastes and dangerous goods etc.
Technical (e.g. subsea and pipelines) environmental support for offshore inspection, maintenance, and replacement (IMR) activities, pigging, remotely operated vehicle (ROV)/unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) interventions and surveys, port maintenance, and dredging campaigns for Gorgon and Wheatstone subsea assets
Support the implementation of environmental deliverables for IMR activities as per environment plans and relevant approvals
Environmental support in preparation and execution of turnaround events and campaign maintenance activities, including support in the development of waste management plans and environment plans and site-based support during turnaround events
Provide input into regulator reporting via collation of data from key Operations customers on environmental performance standards, metrics and emission performance summaries
Support the environmental review and update of environmental approvals and operations business controls through the Environment Plan – Management of Change (EP-MOC) process
Support the development and implementation of operational and verification controls for environment requirements
Serve as waste management focal point for Operations – waste site evaluations, waste management plan development etc.
Support the implementation of the Environment Stewardship Process and Environmental Performance Standards for Operations e.g. Third-Party Waste Stewardship Standard
Regularly visit the assets and provide environmental support and site cover
Commitment to health, environment and safety and Chevron best practices
Key skills and experience required:
A strong background in environment is preferred for this role. Site/field experience is highly desirable
Relevant experience (5-10 years) in the resources industry, ideally with experience in areas of high environmental sensitivities. Western Australia North West experience would be beneficial
Practical working knowledge of relevant Western Australian and Commonwealth environmental legislation and regulatory regimes is highly desirable as well as Chevron Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS)
Knowledge relating to environmental aspects of vessel, SCM, major maintenance and construction, operation and maintenance of liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities, including waste management and disposal, is desirable
Experience relating to the environmental management and reporting of emissions, discharges and waste will be key in meeting the requirements of this role
Experience in environmental inspections and reporting would be beneficial
Strong organisational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential
Demonstrated ability to identify and build key relationships that contribute to high-class business results
