The incumbent will be responsible for detailed engineering of gas compressor mechanical seals, including but not limited to sizing, selection, design, review and sign off for minimum inputs for new proposals, conversions, revisions, bill of materials and detail manufacturing drawings for order fulfillment including documentation.
Respond to technical queries related to gas compressor seals in the region.
Creation of Gas Compressor Seals reverse engineering drawings, measurement protocols, bill of materials and documentation.
Prepare, review and sign off operational process drawings, conversion drawings and measurement protocols.
Support repair and testing team on technical questions, tester drawings, test fixtures, test procedure and troubleshooting during assembly, installation and testing.
Prepare detailed RCA & failure reports to resolve warranty claims and field bad actors in the region with suitable corrective actions.
Support the contiguous development localization initiative and provide technical support to achieve the Full localization of compressor seals
Support Commercial requests for custom engineered seals selection, sizing and costing.
Engineering support : To Sales and Commercial for the following in a timely manner.
First point of contact for all technical issues and queries in the region.
Clean proposal and order entry from proper selection, sizing, specification review and compliance to standards.
Prepare and sign off seal assembly and tester drawings, Bill of materials, Reverse Engineering drawings, manufacturing operational process drawings, dynamic spin tester drawings, test procedures, Balancing fixture drawings as per requirements of gas compressor seals.
Bill of materials review and sign off in the business system and revision control.
Seal Inspection, dimensional reports and form scan of critical surfaces for RCA’s and reverse engineering.
Attend tester team accountability meeting and address technical issues.
Detailed holistic Seal Root Cause Analysis including design upgrades.
Coordinate closely with compressor system team on RCA’s that involves “Control Panel upgrades”.
SPO development : (Product development and localization)
Co-ordinate the SPO development activities between Germany and Singapore manufacturing & QA department to achieve the Full compressor seal local manufacturing.
Actively participate in the monthly calls and follow up the actions to complete the audits and certifications as per the localization plan.
QA and Documentation
Work with QA department and ensure inspection - documentation is in line with company standards and in the correct format for parts manufactured in Singapore.
Disposition of deviations to be reviewed case to case with QA and Lead business unit in Germany.
Ensure documentation of the complete seals are uploaded in the system as per procedures, when all metal parts, assembly and testing of new seals are completed in Singapore.
Enhance Singapore Gaspac localization by identifying parts that can be made locally for repairs and new orders and focus to make the parts in Singapore completely.
Support manufacturing team for trails and special processes involved in compressor seals.
Maintain daily log of activities and provide summary at the end of the month.
Discuss with reporting Manager on a daily basis on active jobs and challenges faced.
Reporting of daily log and capture job types and utilization on a Monthly basis for manager review.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or any other related Technical discipline with min. 3 to 5 years’ experience in handling pump or compressor Seals. Direct experience in designing compressor seals will be added advantage.
Knowledge in application, materials, standards, specifications review, basic calculations for flow, orifice, pressure drop etc. and troubleshooting of mechanical seals will be a distinct advantage.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering specifications &/or drawings.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, distinguish between relevant and/or irrelevant contributing factors and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to communicate and present well to customers on bad actors resolution. Customer facing skills.
Knowledge in AutoCAD and design.
