J. Walter Thompson Sydney is searching for an experienced account manager to join their team based in Pyrmont.

The role

Key responsibilities

  • Building a thorough understanding of the client’s business and how it operates

  • Building client trust by meeting and exceeding the day to day needs of their business

  • Taking full responsibility for project management

  • Leading the process of integrated work and managing effective relationships across multi-disciplinary teams

  • Effectively working with and building relationships with partner agencies

  • Evaluating creative solutions and helping to sell the work

  • Contributing to strategic projects and writing briefs

  • Presenting internally and to clients in condiently and persausively

  • Ensuring that agency systems and procedures are followed

  • Understanding the agencies operating profit model, client agreement and proactively pursuing opportunities to increase revenue

  • Utilising agency resources appropriately and efficiently

  • Successfully managing the monthly financial processing including estimates, purchase orders and JCRs

Skills/Experience

  • Minimum 3 years integrated advertising agency experience in account management

  • Deep understanding of all aspects of communication development and production (broadcast, print and digital)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong stakeholder management skills

  • Confident and persuasive presenter

  • Understands the principles of project management and has some software experience eg. smart sheets

  • An understaning of agency financial models and software eg. BCC

  • Proficient in MS Office – Word, Excel, Powerpoint or ideally Keynote
