Facebook Strategic Partner Development - News and Entertainment, Canada in Toronto, Canada

Summary:

The Canadian Media Partnerships team is seeking to grow its practice in News and Entertainment by adding a proven, talented and multi-dimensional team member in Toronto.

The role will work directly with partners in News and Entertainment (broadcasters, publishers, studios, labels, musicians, talent, influencers and creators) to drive strategic and tactical programs, learn their businesses and act as a key consultant to help impact partner revenue and business goals. This role will also lead tentpole event partnerships in entertainment.

The role will also support these and other Canadian media partners in creating holistic approaches to audience development and conversion through content and distribution, in collaboration with internal subject matter experts as applicable. The role will be an internal advocate for these partners working directly with Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations and others; and will work cross-functionally with colleagues in Marketing Solutions, Communications and Public Policy to support Facebook Canada and global initiatives.

The Media Partnerships team is the face of Facebook to our external relationships and works with Canada’s largest media companies, TV networks, publishers, celebrities, creators and talent.

This position will be based in Toronto, Canada and report to the Head of Media Partnerships, Canada.

Required Skills:

  1. Develop and drive strategies to scale product adoption and product features for News and Entertainment partners

  2. understand and support the application of these products with partners to drive their desired business outcomes

  3. Support key News initiatives in the market, specifically as it relates to distribution and recurring revenue conversions

  4. Be the face of Facebook in the market and manage relationships with Entertainment partners (broadcasters, publishers, studios, labels, talent, creators,…)

  5. Manage key event partnerships in Canada (film festivals, industry awards shows,…)

  6. Handle day-to-day operations with our Entertainment partners, field and prioritize incoming requests, troubleshoot partner issues, and improve partner performance

  7. Track, analyze and communicate key quantitative metrics and business trends to managed partners & monitor progress

  8. Support external scaled partner education and communication efforts

  9. Support quarterly business reviews with Canada’s largest media companies

  10. Work with cross-functional partners in Marketing Solutions, Communications and Public Policy to drive the overall Facebook Canada strategy

  11. Work with relevant internal teams to ensure that Facebook is taking partner input into account in relevant product and policy decisions

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Undergraduate degree or technical diploma

  2. 5+ years of industry experience in social media, digital media, account management, or marketing strategy

  3. Experience drawing actionable insights from data, thinking strategically and turning these insights into recommendations and actions

  4. Experience impacting internal policies and providing recommendations

  5. Experience with Facebook ad platforms

  6. Experience orienting a partner to fundamental account management and marketing solutions strategies/tactics

  7. Experience managing projects cross-functional projects across time zones

  8. Communication and presentation experience with all levels of management and at industry events

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience driving partnership or client strategy at a media company or consumer internet company, impacting a diverse set of industries including broadcast, digital publishing, and entertainment

  2. Understanding of Facebook products and social media landscape

  3. Understanding of the entertainment and publishing ecosystems on Facebook & Instagram
