Job Description:

Location: This role can be based out of our Toronto, Montreal or Waterloo office.

Reporting to the Manager, Campus Recruiting this role focuses on executing Sun Life Financial’s campus recruiting strategy in Canada by building key partnerships with academic institutions and with internal business partners and hiring managers to execute the most relevant outreach plan to meet entry-level hiring needs. The delivery of innovative recruitment solutions aimed at promoting the Sun Life brand to prospective students and developing a diverse candidate pipeline for Sun Life's college and intern programs is the key accountability of the role.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Act as campus ambassador and primary point of contact for career services offices, student and diversity organizations, faculty, candidates, and other appropriate groups at target universities

  • Support, manage and implement the Sun Life strategy for university relations and college recruiting

  • Plan, organize and execute all recruiting events at target schools including presentations, career fairs, and interviews

  • Drive the deployment of additional resources to support campus events and activities by using alumni and other members of the business

  • Oversee the use and implementation of a uniform campus brand message that presents Sun Life as an employer of choice at select local and regional universities

  • Plan and recommend improvements to Sun Life's campus recruitment policies, practices & procedures

  • Manage the end-to-end candidate process, including resume screening, interviews, selection, offers and onboarding

  • Support continuous process improvement initiatives and culture within the Campus team

  • Support Campus diversity and inclusion initiatives within Canada

  • Participate in on-campus activities (information sessions, mock interviews etc.)

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years’ previous campus recruiting experience required

  • Ability to conduct capability based interviews

  • Strong strategic planning and project management skills

  • Polished and professional image, combined with high standards of customer service and follow-through

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-motivated, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and prioritize

  • Skilled at networking, influencing and able to build credibility and confidence at all levels

  • Experience with Recruitment technology and Social Media is essential

Assets

  • Education in an HR related field

  • Experience with Workday

  • Bilingualism

  • CHRP designation (or progress towards)

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Seasonal travel required during peak interview periods
