We are currently looking for a Compensation Specialist reporting to the Director, Compensation to join our IGM Human Resources department as part of either Mackenzie Investments (Toronto) or Investors Group (Winnipeg).
Within the Human Resources Department of IGM, the Compensation team works with the Human Resources Business Partners to support the company and its business units to attract, engage, and retain top talent by ensuring competitive compensation packages are offered and excellence in performance is rewarded. The team has overall responsibility for the design, implementation, and administration of all compensation programs.
As a valued member of the Compensation team your core responsibilities will include:
Program Administration & Analytics
Provide compensation support as subject matter expert to HR Business Partners for Corporate Business Functions
Assist in the analysis and review of current compensation programs and processes
Assist in the development of new programs by researching market trends and analyzing competitive compensation survey data
Provide analytical support for the corporate year-end process including the annual salary increase and incentive plan programs
Partner with the HRIS team to implement the compensation decision making tool
Support administration and audit of incentive programs to ensure accurate calculation and payouts
Support Sr. Compensation Specialists and Director on various ad-hoc projects as required
Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiencies in day to day compensation administration
Identify and document processes and exception tracking for compensation programs
The following qualifications are required of the successful candidate:
University degree in business administration or related disciplines
3-4 years of relevant work experience in compensation
Strong analytical and numeric skills
Strong attention to details
The ability to produce high quality work under time pressure and to work as part of a team
Comfortable working with business leaders and senior professionals
Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment in handling information of a sensitive nature
Advanced Excel skills
Knowledge of general Human Resources practices & policies is an asset
