SOV Construction Inc. Construction Project Manager in Vancouver, British Columbia

SOV Construction deals mainly with waterproofing systems, coatings and roofing systems. We are looking for a motivated and dedicated Project Manager to join our well-established and fast-growing team.

Job Summary

Due to our growing demand, we are looking to hire an ambitious, dedicated and thorough Project Manager who is looking to pursue a full-time job with a well-established employer. As a Project Manager with SOV Construction Inc., you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients, including municipalities, school boards, universities, and the government. This is a full-time position based in office and on field.

You will be expected to oversee specific projects in regards to planning, budgeting, and overseeing labour. You will be working closely with management and on-field staff to make sure the direction of each project is on schedule, within budget and scope. Responsibilities and Duties

  • Represent the company in project/client meetings, when necessary, providing skilled technical project advice and recommendations

  • Manage budgets, track and report on project costs, scopes, and schedules

  • Ensure all project activities progress according to schedule

  • Coordinate information to direct, control, and evaluate construction projects from start to finish according to schedules, specifications, and budgets

  • Create and manage work schedules

  • Organize project site visit prior to verify the work to be performed

  • Generate reports for SOV and GC's regarding pre-work conditions and any discrepancies between the pre-work conditions and SOV pre-work requirements

  • Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients

  • Develop and implement quality control programs

  • Conduct field inspections and technical investigations of buildings and structures

  • Communicate with company estimators about current and future project requirements and needs

  • Ensure compliance with on field safety regulations

  • Maintain frequent contact with site personnel

  • Ensure sufficient staffing levels for ongoing and upcoming projects

  • Ensure overall quality and performance of work done is according to project specifications

  • Prepare and coordinate materials for on-field staff daily for required projects

  • Maintain detailed logs of site specifications and requirements and coordinate required materials as such

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

  • 2+ years experience in the construction industry

  • Diploma or Degree (or currently working towards) in Construction Management

  • An understanding of the process, products, and equipment used

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to analyze complex projects

  • Ability to communicate and work in conjunction with workers, customers, and suppliers

  • Knowledge in waterproofing systems and flat roofing systems is an asset
