Job Description:

The Sun Advantage Service Representative is committed to delivering proactive quality service; you will partner with the Account Executive to build and maintain the advisor relationships within a target market segment. The incumbent has a joint responsibility for conserving existing business by ensuring all aspects of the advisor needs are met in a timely and satisfactory manner. The Service Representative is expected to be able to discuss issues related to group benefits and have a sound knowledge of Sun Life products and services. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

What will you do?

  • Review and triage requests to quote in order to decide whether to proceed with quote; gather data critical to quoting and installation of new business / amendments

  • Inform advisors of rate adjustments

  • Review new sales; service clients after installation of new and amended account

  • Promote SLF's image, Internet capabilities, Group Products and Service capabilities to advisors

  • Maintain open communications with other Sales Offices, Client Services, Underwriting to share service delivery improvement ideas

  • Actively seek to find solutions to advisor issues; and provide sales support to Account Executives

What do you need to succeed?

  • Ability to manage deadlines and to work using influence and negotiation

  • Sound knowledge of group insurance benefits and products as well as client service procedures and services

  • Strong understanding of the sales office distribution system, sales practices and procedures

  • Client empathy and commitment to service; strong relationship building skills

  • Analytical and problem solving ability; time management and organizational skills

  • High sense of accountability and autonomy; strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
